Add-in Tutorial (Installation)

It’s a brand new month, and a brand new tutorial.  Today we are focusing on downloading, installing and working very basically with our brand new add-in.  If you don’t already have the add-in, here is the link.

Start by going to our main page: and locate the “Introducing the PresenterMedia Add-in in the lower left hand side of the screen.

Select "Introducing the PresenterMedia Add-in"

Once you’ve clicked the “Introducing the PresenterMedia Add-in” you will be redirected to this page:

If you are NOT signed in yet, you will be directed to this page

If you are signed in, you will be given the option to Install the Add-in.

Following the link to Install the Add-in, you will be given a series of prompts to continue the download. The following prompts are those which are given by Internet Explorer when downloading the Add-in.

When prompted, click "Save As"

Select "Actions"

Select "More Options" at the bottom of this page

Choose to "Run Anyway"

Click "Install"

You will be given a status screen while the download completes

When the download completes, you will be given this pop up. Click "OK".

Now that we’ve downloaded the Add-in, it’s time to install it.  Open the Add-in’s file by double clicking on the icon or right clicking and select “Open”.

Select "Run"

Click "Close" and the installation is complete!

To verify the add-in was installed, go to “All Programs”>”PresenterMedia Add-in and verify there is a folder of that name in your programs list. (see below)

Look for the PresenterMedia folder in your "All Programs" list.

I have done everything for the add-in and downloaded exactly as the video shows and the Add-in/Add-on tab does not show on my PowerPoint. I have removed it and rebooted, I have also reinstalled it and then rebooted and it still will not work. I am really frustrated!

    • Alisa:

I am so sorry you are frustrated. Let’s go ahead and check a few things. Are you using PowerPoint 2007 or 2010? These are the only two versions at this time which accept our add-in. Second, please make sure you have gone to the Trust Center in PowerPoint and enabled the add-in. To do this, click the windows button (2007) or the file button (2010) and go down to PowerPoint Options (2007) / Options (2010). There will be a pop-up box that appears. On the left side of this box there is a tab labeled “Add-ins”. Go to this tab and look for the PresenterMedia Add-in. Make sure it is in the “Active Application Add-ins”. If you do not see the add-in listed, look further down to where it says Manage: and has a drop down arrow box, pre-filled with COM Add-Ins. Click “Go” and a smaller pop up box will appear, displaying the available add-ins. Make sure the PresenterMedia Add-in is selected. If it is not, click the check box next to the words “PresenterMedia Add-in” and then click “OK”. Back out of the menu, restart PowerPoint and the add-in should appear. If this does not work, please let me know and I’ll continue to trouble shoot with you.

We tried all of these suggestions however the tab is not seen on the ribbon in 2010. The PC is running Win XP and the PC is on a secure network. The admin ID that installed the add-in can see the ribbon however, the user that it was installed for cannot when logged on with their ID. The Add-in is not seen under All Programs nor is it seen in the add-in or trust center under Options in 2010 for the user when logged in. Is there a solution for this?

        • Omar:

Thank you for your inquiry. If the add-in is not appearing on the All Programs under one of the User accounts, the Admin must re-install and advise to install for all users, not just the Admin account. Here is one solution from Microsoft about this: To work around this behavior, you can grant Administrative access to individual programs by using the following steps:
Right-click the program’s file name or shortcut.
Click Advanced, click Run with different credentials, and then click OK.
          Start the program.
When you receive a prompt, enter an administrative user ID and password.

I have the same problem. before I used to use the ADD in, it works properly… Today I try to reinstall… but did not work… please….

    • Check to make sure you don’t still have the add-in on your computer, if you do it won’t download and install again. This would be located in your “All Programs” list under “PresenterMedia”

      • lins7448

I did remove /uninstall the old one located in the “all programs”, and reinstall…. but finally…. still it doesn’t work… please

I can’t watch any of the tutorials on this site. It says I am missing a plugin. What do I need?

    • You need to have Flash installed on the internet browser you are using in order to see our video tutorials.

Hi, how can i use the add-in if i have a mac book pro?I can´t downloading it.Can you help me, please?thanks..

    • Our add-in is not written to work on Mac at this point.

  • Julie Silk

the add-in does not work. It just gives me the alert that I am not signed-in even after having signed in under the PresenterMedia tab. And yes, I do have a PP 2010 version.

    • Julie:

Try closing the add-in (X button on the right side of the pane) and reopening it by clicking the “Search” button. Also, you may need to reset your internet settings and/or clear your cookies and temporary internet files if the first step does not solve your problem.

  • How do you delete a clip art that you have installed?

    • To remove it from your presentation, click the image and press the Delete button on your keyboard. To remove an item from your computer, locate the location it is at, right click the file and select “Delete” or “Move to Trash”.

I love this add-in… Makes for faster work…. Great tutorial as well. Installed easily.

  • John Reese

Does the add-in work with PowerPoint 2013? (Office 365)

    • Thank you for your inquiry. Our add-in will work on PowerPoint 2007, 2010 and 2013 (installed, not web version).

  • Abeer

Still not working on MAC pc until today?

    • Abeer:

Our add-in is only available for PC at this time.

  • Billy

Must say I’ve really enjoyed PresenterMedia since I joined. Love the add-in also, makes it really easy to create my Presentations all from within PowerPoint. Also love the simplicity of your tutorials and videos. Very easy to follow and implement. Very nice. Glad I became a member.

    • Billy –
Thanks so much for your feedback! We’ll try to keep up the good work for you 🙂

  • Joubert

Is this works with Mac? I was no well succeeded. The pront which appears is that I don’t have program to read it. What do I have to do?

    • Mike Weber

Hi Joubert, the Add-in is currently only available for the PC, no Mac. It is a new tool for faster methodology. You won’t need to install it to use our content.

  • Caroline Cerveny

I just installed the add-in. Now I am unable to access PowerPoint. When I go to PowerPoint, what comes up – It shows “PowerPoint” at the top of the screen, but the only thing that I am able to do is to edit photos.

I’ve been unable to get back to PowerPoint! What is the issue here?

    • Mike Weber

Caroline what version of Windows and Power Point are you using? We have a couple short tutorials on our website involving installing and re-enabling the Add-In. If this fails to resolve the issue, please remember all the download functions of the add-in, and many others, are available directly from the website using our traditional service.

Still cannot get add in to load into PPT. I use to have it then went away. Not sure what the problem. Tried all the suggestions you mentioned, with no success. Any other things to try? I have PPT 2010.

  • Same here with PPt 2013 … the installer indicated that it had installed and registered but nothing happens and I dont see the plugin .

    • Never mind , after restarting it is now in PPt 2013 thanks

  • Shannon

I work on a MAC with PowerPoint 2011. I just purchased my subscription to realize your ADD-IN will not work with my system or software.

Any suggestions for a work around?

    • Unfortunately there isn’t. It’s a limitation with PowerPoint on the MAC, and it doesn’t load ADD-IN’s like PowerPoint on windows.

  • Vivian Ngozi Ani

Hi, are all your templates editable if i want to change text and objects?
