Microsoft Office 2013 Native to iOS and Android!

Posted on: Oct, 2012 By: Mike Weber
There are no words for ecstatic I am about this latest update, courtesy of (and the Czech Republic).    Microsoft is going to be releasing Office 2013 as an available app for both Android and iOS tablets in the first half of 2013.  The consumer version for PC will be available in Q1 (most likely February) with the tablet version trailing behind by a month or two.

What does this mean for our content?  This means that PowerPoint will be at your fingertips (most likely thanks to the Windows 8 push towards touch screen compatibility we mentioned earlier this summer) regardless of which version of the tablet you are using.

This information was gained during a press release in the Czech Republic, so it may not necessarily mean we'll be getting it in the US in the same quarter. A Microsoft US Spokesperson advised they did not announce a release date or retail availability of the new Office 2013, but with us all being able to play with the version of the newest Office Suite already, I wouldn't be surprised if the retail release is in the next 6 months.

Even if the corporate folks say it'll just be the better mobile version of Office, I'll be looking forward to Microsoft's future in the Tablet world.
